Moving home!!!

Work has been amazing. I have been meeting new people left and right. It has been a bunch of good times. Today is a somewhat big day though. I went to the disney class today and heard from a couple of mangers who work in Disneyland park communications. I love going to the class because every week it seems like I learn of new job opportunities every time.

Interestingly...
Today I found out the most random thing. A man asks to be my friend on facebook. Originally I was going to say no because I did not know him. But I saw that he worked for ABC which is a part of the Walt Disney Company. Before I add him I ask what he does for ABC, and he replies by telling me what he does and continues with telling me how he knows my uncle, aunt, and my grandmother. Turns out, he is my grandmothers stepbrother. I knew him when I was younger but I haven't seen him since. Funny how we both work for The Walt Disney Company. Networking has never been so simple..lol

New Roles!!!

So my four months have come up and  I am no longer on my new hire probation. I am now free to transfer to another department if I feel I want to. Funny because I actually do! I have worked with characters so much and become friends with those who have these roles that I wouldn't mind switching into a character role position. I am very outgoing and love to make people laugh if possible. How better of a way to do this than behind a mask and be the biggest jokester possible.

On my last post I mentioned that we had merged with the Entertainment department. Well earlier this week the hosted an Entertainment Department Only auditions for characters, which means I could go, so I went. It was my first audition of any sort besides a normal job interview, so I had no idea what to expect. But one of Mickey's current friends told me to just go all out and do anything they ask you to do, so I did, and I made it. I was casted to be friends with Goofy and Tigger. Fun times ahead!!!

COme Together

So within the past few months my work sector has been merging to become one with the entertainment department. We were originally under the stores and operations department for some reason. It honestly makes more sense that we merge with the entertainment department, seeing that we do a lot of work that revolves around such things as the characters on stage and or shows and events. Character meet and greets are made memorable experiences by us photographing these moments for our guests.

By merging, you can see the logistical side of things. We can help the entertainment department gain more revenue, and we in turn can gain some of the perks that the characters may get, hopefully..LOL!!!

Here nor there!!!!

I have had A very busy week. Work has been ridiculously crazy! Spring break began three weeks ago so people have been showing up Monday through Sunday. Its actually kind of wierd because every week the people visiting the park are generally from the same area. This past week it was overrun with guests from Washington state and Melbourne, Australia. This week we have started to see the Californians all rush the park because their breaks either began this week or next. I can't even go to the park for fun if I wanted to. My roomie has friends in town and they went to the park and were denied....lol... The economy may be facing a huge hit but Disneyland seems more booming than ever. The amount of people here are unimaginable. Line, after line, after line, after lines are filled for every attraction, venue, and food stand. I am glad I went earlier this week to see the Fire works show at least.

Lately, I have been on a restaurant search quest. I have been going out to Hollywood, Santa Monica, everywhere actually and just trying new food outlets. If i keep this up, by the time I am done with the internship in August, I will have made a name for myself as an LA food critic. HAHAHA!!!
